TOPIC 1 DETAILS (am)

Not-For-Profit Accounting – Tips and Challenges

Accounting and finance work in a not-for-profit sector context is constantly evolving, from what might be termed a ‘best practice’ perspective. This workshop-style session will explore the major accounting challenges and hone in on some keys tips that can be practically implemented into everyday working life. The session will discuss important areas such as systems and processes, accounting and reconciliations, grant and acquittal accounting, preparing reports, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting and forecasting, and working with non-finance people.

It would be a valuable session for not-for-profit finance managers, accountants, treasurers and finance staff.

TOPIC 2 DETAILS (pm)

Not-For-Profit Sector Annual Technical Update

The only constant on the not-for-profit sector landscape is change! This valuable update session will focus on the developments and changes over the last twelve months that will impact on charities and not-for-profit organisations operating in the sector. There will be an emphasis on unpacking and explaining recent legislative change in areas such as accounting standards and the AASB, the ATO and forms of taxation, the ACNC and ASIC. Time will also be spent in the broader perspective of looking at trends and developments across the sector.
